This man is a legend or should be in the Martial Arts community. He happens to be my Professor. He has mentored me for a year. I have become a Blackbelt of note and worth since that through his directions. I recommend not only new comers but established practitioners of high rank and experience to train under the Ohio Brasa banner.

I wanted to enroll my kids (a 5yo Girl and 8yo boy) into a martial arts academy. I did a lot of research on Ann Arbor, Jackson, and Toledo area facilities. I also visited many Acadamy's in those areas. With one visit Ohio Brasa impressed me much more than any other academy. The coaches are patient and really motivated to train the kids in the class and are always looking out for the safety of their students. Since beginning BJJ at Brasa, both of my kids are better listeners and much more disciplined. This has translated outside of BJJ and have become serious about competition: academics, football, soccer, baseball and wrestling. Not to mention Coach Deon and his team have trained both of them into winning gold medals at multiple BJJ competitions. I will continue to drive my kids the 1-hour commute as I can clearly see very positive outcomes from this academy.

Exceptional athletes with no politics: Professor Thompson is a jiu jitsu champion who is creating a team of top-level competitors with judo and wrestling backgrounds, he promotes numerous grappling events, and promotes a regional jiu jitsu culture where all clubs work together to promote jiu jitsu.
